This is yet another example of residential asphalt driveway paving by James Kurpiel Inc. of Hackensack, N.J. This project in Westwood, New Jersey was completed within one day and involved removal of the old driveway and re-paving as shown. An interesting fact about asphalt is that it happens to be the most recycled product in the America. Talk about SUSTAINABILITY. According to a report released by the National Asphalt Pavement Association in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), if you took all the newspapers, aluminum and steel cans, glass, and plastic bottles the U.S. recycles annually and put them on a scale, they would still weigh less than three-fourths that of reclaimed asphalt pavements (RAP). This makes asphalt America’s most recycled product.
Asphalt pavements require about 20 percent less energy to produce and construct than other pavements. Over 99 percent of asphalt pavement reclaimed from roads was collected for use in new pavements.
