How Does Mill & Pave Work?
Milling, sometimes referred to as grinding, takes a much different approach than patching asphalt lots and areas in that it removes built-up layers of deteriorated asphalt down to a specific depth, thus making room for a new surface. This method is ideal for larger areas and parking lots and/or warehouse or heavy vehicular traffic areas.
With a milling machine the deteriorated top layers of the asphalt are removed down to a predetermined depth. This asphalt rubble is then removed from the site and recycled. After sweeping it is then repaved with a fresh layer of asphalt. In many cases, mill & pave is done on large surface areas where a peel and pave or patch is just not sufficient and not cost-effective.
